Question:
How do I change the FrontPage password for a domain on a Freedom account?
Answer:
You must change the password through UNIX on the server.
Software:
Microsoft FrontPage 2000
Detail:
Currently, there is no way to change your FrontPage password except to either reinstall the FrontPage extensions or follow this FAQ.
Solution:
To change your FrontPage password on a Freedom server, telnet to the server, then cd to the htdocs/_vti_pvt/ directory of the domain that you wish to change the FrontPage password for. For example, if the domain in question is www.fpdomain.com, then the command would be:
> cd /www/vhosts/fpdomain.com/htdocs/_vti_pvt/
Now run the Apache password change command for the user. For example, if the user name was webmaster, then the command would be:
> htpasswd service.pwd webmaster
This will prompt you for the new password for webmaster. Once this is completed, the password will have been changed for the FrontPage extensions.
